News / Re: New Site Design

The main site have a link to the forum....but the forum haven't a link to the site, or better, i'm so idiot that i can't found it!
I think it will make a more easy navigation.... :what:

That is correct. Links back to the main site may be added later, but the original thought by the owner of the group was to make the forum a bit more standalone.

In any case, good work for the style. (even if i found Hino Bliss easier to be read)

That is the reason for the theme selection. If you like the older style better, you can continue to use it. (It also shows the power of CSS as the CSS is the only thing that changes. The underlying HTML is the same.)

Once I have more time (I still have some site fixes to complete!), I would be willing to help with QC. If you're fine with me having a slower pace just to get things moving, we can discuss when I'm next on IRC.

Site layout updated to transparent PNGs. That should remove the artifacts.

The area that Panda screenshotted still looks weird to me. Like a couple areas are patchy, missing a row of pixels.
http://i.imgur.com/n8sRO.png <- there are a bunch of such patches almost directly to the right of Hinoto's sleeve.

It looks like it's due to the way I originally set up the page to accommodate IE6. Since we don't care if the visuals are off, I'll move to transparent PNGs, which should solve the problem.

Also, the images themselves seem to have been compressed? There shouldn't be this many artifacts.

JPEG artifacting. The move to PNG should solve that issue.

News / New Site Design
« on: August 29, 2010, 12:10:55 AM »
As you may have noticed, the site has a new look! It's been in design for quite some time, but was finally approved to go live. The ever talented Chara is the designer.

The menu system has been reworked to make the site easier to navigate. If you have any recommendations or comments on the theme, please let us know.

For those that like the older theme, you can still select it via the theme drop-down on the left, it's now known as "Victorian".

Some pages may be broken or missing while the old content is updated for the new design. They should be back up by Monday and cleanup to fit the new semantic coding style will be ongoing.

News / Re: Reported Attack Site!

My anti virus said it was a trojan-horse at http://bwys.org/\{gzip} that was loading :what:

That very well could have been mostly accurate.

The long story is that there was unwanted PHP code added to index.php on the site root (only the main site page was affected) that was obscured and created obscured Javascript which was ran by the browser to load a malware-installing site in a hidden iframe.

I went through all PHP and HTML files on the site and did some automated searches for any further "infections" and found none. Later, possibly this weekend, I'll be auditing every file by hand or replacing it with a clean backup to be safe.

Google Chrome also listed the site, as did any links from the Google search engine. Other browers using the StopBadware list would have also shown warnings.

I'm hoping to have everything back up by the end of this week, but given my schedule that may not happen.

Fye makes more sense, since unknowing ppl would pronounce Fay so that it rhymes with gay... orz

Well, given his behavior, it isn't surprising.

Without knowing anything about the series, it looks like a case of Slap Slap Kiss to me.

I have a suspicion that Seno will not let her into Random

I think that might be a good idea. The stuff in here could cause some deep emotional scaring.

The feed is generated by our forum software, SMF. All I had to do was put the link in a special tag to make it show up on the front page.

For those who are interested, BWYS now has an RSS feed for news items that you can subscribe to. If you are using a browser that recognizes RSS, you should see the icon when you visit the main page of this site.

Note that as we are now managing the news through our forum, you can also now comment on news items. The comment link is at the bottom of every post.

Please do comment and let us know what you think of the new features and if there is anything else you would like to see!

KuroFay? Sorry, I can't stand Yaoi :<

Many people can't. It's a niche thing, much like Yuri. I do support a Heterosexual Life Partner pairing of KuroFay.

Entertainment / Re: Japanese Music
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:28:49 PM »
Personally, I listen to Japanese music simply because I love hearing other languages. I'm also fond German music in particular, mostly metal.

Yeah, I have the requisite Rammstein, but haven't really branched out from there. Most of my other heavy stuff is by foreign bands, but in English (Nightwish, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil). I'd like to find some more Galneryus, but it's impossible to find without buying from foreign stores.

By the way,  "Prisoner of Love" by Utada Hikaru is way too addictive.

I'll look it up. Her English debut was awfully uneven, but I've heard good things about her Japanese work.

Right now, Beth Orton is playing while I work.
