Title: Mobile Posting Rocks
Post by: Motoko-chan on July 19, 2008, 09:34:41 PM
Did you know you can post from a mobile device? It's great when you are stuck in a store and bored.

Nope! Do you need Mobile Web to do that?

Well, if you have a cellular phone that has internet capability, you can browse SMF forums. It's rather nice. I'm lucky enough that the place I work pays for an unlimited data plan on my work phone (for mail, server alerts, tethering in remote locations).

Just add "?wap", "?wap2", or "?imode" (for DoCoMo peeps) at the end of the main URL for any SMF forum. You can do it in a standard browser if you want a "lite" mode for posting, or are just curious.

Ah, you're lucky. The data plans at Verizon are pricey...  :kanashii: Poor college student me couldn't afford one.

I just tried that and I didn't notice much of a difference. I like how it's already lite to begin with.

Yeah, too bad VZW coverage sucks where I live. The phone usually drops calls within five seconds after starting to ring. It does work good at the shopping center by I-210 (where I posted originally from), mostly because of an antenna array nearby.

It should look quite different. Try these links:

WAP (http://bwys.forgottenrain.net/forums/index.php?wap), WAP 2 (http://bwys.forgottenrain.net/forums/index.php?wap2), imode (http://bwys.forgottenrain.net/forums/index.php?imode)

I want some of that :)~

I'll take some of that thread too, please.
