Oh my,
Just last week I was wondering to myself if there were any new chapters of 3gatsu and voila! Thank you so much for continuing to scanlating this. And thank you for introducing me to 3gatsu.

Wow I'm really happy you guys are alive and kicking...after a year of no release I took matters into my own hands and found a way to get the series going...although I would definitely prefer if you guys take charge...I upload to batoto because i'm a little bit of a nostalgic guy...the same way I remember following some of your series, I remember batoto sharing some of their ad revenue with the scanlators groups + I figure that sooner or later all chapter will end up ____Manga.com so...

I thank you so much for scanlating this manga again. I felt broken when I found out no one was scanlating this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love this series above all others but feared it was dead. Please keep doing it and thank you very much.

Thanks for fighting the good fight on this one.  I find it telling that Honey and Clover was such an enormous hit, but March Comes in Like a Lion is virtually unknown, because it has a less conventional plot and the author has crossed markets.

I love it.  I love that it's an excellent shoujo/josei author doing a shounen bildungsroman.  I love that it's such quirky material.  Thanks for keeping it out there.

Aggregators largely fall into three categories of legitimacy:
Batoto is the most respectable. If scanlators ask not to be uploaded there, or the publisher asks for it to be taken down, then they will comply. In this aspect, it is unique. It also has nice features such as non-braindead discussion and curation of releases, so many scanlators have ties with batoto. It was started to be the "ultimate aggregator site to end all sites" but of course it is no such thing.
Second tier is mangafox, animea, and others. They will buckle underneath legal requests, but won't comply with scanlator requests.
Third tier is mangapark, kissmanga, and others, which comply with nothing.

If anything looks fishy, you should head over to batoto to see a more authoritative version, because batoto takes care of its stuff better.

Wow, it is just fascinating to me to hear you talk about scanlation from your perspective (in a good way!). It is incredible how different and varied your world-view of it is from mine, and yet we still, I think, have conscientious voices. Years ago I noticed male/general and female-oriented scanlation were diverging paths, and today it seems more extreme than ever.

My vague impression of Batoto was some sort of newfangled sketchy and morally-ambiguous aggregate, without much differentiation from the other aggressive online readers, but it sounds from you like there is significant contrast between individual sites and their practices.

It must seem bizarre to you that the only other place I update 3gatsu releases to is LiveJournal.

mangapark is nice because they steal from batoto (usually), they don't watermark, they update with v2 sometimes when v2 comes out, and they keep separate versions corresponding to where they stole the release from. It's by far the best steal-your-crap manga website around, compared to mangafox, kissmanga, etc. But in terms of quality, it still has problems with not stealing everything, not always updating changed chapters, and out-of-order chapters/pages. If anything looks fishy, you should head over to batoto to see a more authoritative version, because batoto takes care of its stuff better. The major downsides to batoto are that it doesn't host everything, and you can't view chapters on one page without using addons, which I refuse to do.

MU is sketchy on adding releases. Releases need a registered group, and groups are required to have websites, and need to be registered first before releases can be added. batoto is supposed to be an exception to this rule, in that releases only on batoto are allowed, but you still need to register a group first by creating a group on batoto, linking it to the release, reporting it to MU, and only then can you submit a release. By this time the rules are complex enough that people don't bother putting them on MU, or sometimes there are long delays where releases show up a long time later but seem to have been submitted early on (?), or whatever.

A combination of three sources is usually good:
1. MU as main source of info
2. batoto for releases, usually by 4chan, which tend to show up on MU weeks or months later. the quantity of these releases is low, but they're usually of series that are of higher quality than average, so batoto is much more useful than you would expect
3. mangapark for licensed stuff (i.e. rips of English books such as Planetes or Aventura) that shows up nowhere else, as a last resort. also for groups that are "illegitimate" because MU rejects a lot of crap, and batoto loves "official" scanlation groups. example: Ruler of the Land, although the junk releases now show up on MU also (after half a year)
